Sylvie graduated with distinction in 2019 with a master’s degree in Law, specialising in Criminal Law, from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. During the 2019–2020 academic year, she undertook further training in Tax Law. She combined these studies as a working student with her role as a registrar at the Court of Appeal in Antwerp, where her duties included serving as senior registrar in the indictment division and as press registrar.

After working for 10 years at the Court of Appeal in Antwerp – five years with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and five years as a registrar – she made the transition to the legal profession in 2020 and joined a tax law firm in Antwerp, where she specialised in tax law and financial and economic criminal law.

In 2026, she joined the practice of Mr Thierry Lauwers. Within the firm, she handles both tax and criminal cases. She holds the ‘Cassation in Criminal Cases’ certificate as well as the ‘Supralat-Salduz Training’ certificate (assistance during questioning), enabling her to assist you in such proceedings as well.
